Redouane Oumahi (b. 1975) is a French artist and image maker based in Stockholm. His creative practice began with graffiti, painting walls, trains and metro systems across France and Europe, before moving to London, where he studied Graphic and Media Design at the London College of Communication (2000–2003).
His career has spanned graphic design, advertising, fashion, set design, editorial and digital design, working internationally in London, Madrid, Oslo, Helsinki and Copenhagen. He was Art Director for the launch of View of the Times, a publication from the renowned Spanish fashion magazine Vanidad. He also worked with Bleed Design Studio in Oslo and TBWA in Helsinki. Later, he moved into print and the tech industry, working with established companies such as PostNord, Mathem and Blocket, as well as startups. He eventually founded Tokonoma Studio, his independent image-making practice.
Oumahi's work brings together the spontaneity of graffiti, the structure of design and an experimental approach to contemporary image-making. Working across painting, print, digital processes and AI, he creates fictional worlds informed by politics, popular culture, technology and social unrest.
In 2011, he presented Sweet Dreams Are Made of This at Talent Gallery in Stockholm, followed in 2012 by Funny Games at Kemistry Gallery in London. Both exhibitions focused on his graphic design practice. In 2026, he presented his first solo exhibition, Cutout Citizens, at Galleri Odenhall in Stockholm, introducing a fictional universe of agents, low-poly armies and imagined systems of resistance, combining dark humour with a deliberately imperfect visual language.
